How does PPC work? PPC (pay-per-click) ads are basically auctions for the specific word or phrase. Consider the keywords most relevant to your business - every time someone searches for anything including these keywords, a number of ads are displayed next to search result. Each participant sets the price per click that is paid only when someone clicks on the ad and goes to your site. Therefore, a higher bid means a higher position for the ad (although there are other factors to consider, too - i.e., ad quality, landing page relevance to the keyword, etc.)
How much do the bid prices cost? The bid price depends on (1) how many bidders there are (respectively, how many competitors want to advertise with the same keyword); (2) how much they are bidding on this keyword. The price also depends on whether you want to see advert in the first position or below, because higher positions are more expensive, e.g., if the third position costs 40 cents, the first one may cost 80 cents or more.
Is PPC expensive? You can set maximum price per click for each keyword as well as define maximum daily budget so you won't pay more than the amount you have set. Furthermore, as our experience shows, if the keywords are selected correctly and ad text is well written, you won't have to pay the maximum price per click.
Is PPC the same as SEO? No. Search engine optimization (SEO) combines a number of techniques and methods to improve the content on your site, site’s structure and coding as well as link building. The main idea of SEO is (1) to find your site in search engines and (2) to make it as relevant as possible so it is displayed in search results . SEO can be very effective if done well but it cannot guarantee position with absolute certainty and it may take several months to gradually make a significant climb in search engines.
